BICMA (Bhutan Information, Communications, and Media Authority) certification in Bhutan refers to a regulatory framework established by the government of Bhutan to ensure quality, safety, and compliance within various sectors, particularly in the fields of telecommunications, broadcasting, and information technology. BICMA is responsible for overseeing and regulating the standards for services, equipment, and content in Bhutan's communication industry.
Key Aspects of BICMA Certification:

Service Providers: Companies offering telecommunications, broadcasting, and internet
services in Bhutan must be certified by BICMA to operate legally within the country.
This includes the approval of licenses and permissions for service provision.
Content Regulation: BICMA plays a role in monitoring media content, ensuring that it
aligns with Bhutan’s cultural values and legal standards, including guidelines on
broadcasting, advertising, and online content.
Quality Control: BICMA certification helps maintain a standard of quality in both the infrastructure and services offered by communication and media companies, ensuring consumers have access to reliable and efficient services.
Compliance with National Policies: BICMA ensures that all communication and media-related businesses follow the policies laid out by the Bhutanese government for promoting technological development, national security, and societal welfare.
